|We know that you may have some growing concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and we want to let you know that our event planning team is closely monitoring the impact of this virus on Spring CoP events. We are considering best actions to ensure the health and safety of our members, students, guests and staff. |
Industry-wide, hospitality providers have increased their cleaning and disinfectant protocols. They are monitoring their guests and developing medical responses at their respective locations. While there has been an increase in cancellations of large global event, no government agency or travel industry experts are mandating the cancellation of US events.
ACPE has not seen significant cancellations for any of our events scheduled through May 2020, and registrations remain on par with previous years for the annual conference in Cleveland. To date, only a short list of members/centers have shared information about concerns or center-wide travel bans in response to COVID-19.
As a convener, we want to be sure that you have the resources and support necessary to make an informed decision about the continuation of your upcoming gathering. While ACPE is not requiring event cancellations at this time, the staff is here to support your decision whether to move forward or cancel. If you have questions, need to talk things through, or need help in gathering facts, please feel free to contact Terry Izaguirre at Terry.Izaguirre@acpe.edu or Katherine at Katherine.Higgins@acpe.edu.
If your group decides to cancel, please inform the staff immediately. We will manage cancellation requests with contracted facilities and negotiate/minimize the cancellation penalties on the association and the registered individuals. Staff can also assist with rescheduling for another time this year. Remember that Zoom technology for video/telephone conferencing is readily available to you at no cost through the ACPE office. Just send us your request with scheduling information and will do our best accommodate.
ACPE is committed to providing updates and information as the COVID-19 situation continues. We encourage members to monitor the CDC website for additional information and follow the WHO’s Travel Advice as you consider your professional and personal travel arrangements. We will continue to update you via www.acpe.edu and email. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact the Terry at Terry.Izaguirre@acpe.edu or Katherine at Katherine.Higgins@acpe.edu.
